Location Description Photographer | Faro of St Eufemia Vieste This tiny island stands on the north-eastern tip of the Gargano peninsula, opposite the ancient town of Vieste. It is believed to be one of the oldest settlements in the Daunia region of Puglia. Finds from Neolithic to Medieval times have been uncovered throughout the ages. Location Description Photographer | Basilica of St Leucio at Canosa di Puglia near Bari Amongst olive groves are the foundation and remains of an early Christian Basilica dedicated to San Leucio. It probably was a pagan temple of Hellenistic influence which the Romans adapted and dedicated to Minerva and in the IV-V century AD, was transformed into a Christian Basilica by the Byzantines. Location Description Photographer | Monte San Vincenzo Cropmarks of a Neolithic settlement Crop marks of one of the many Neolithic settlements dotted around the Tavoliere. A number of them were discovered by John Bradford during WW2 while he was stationed in Puglia.
